Some locations that will experience flooding include Dededo, Tamuning, Yigo, Mangilao, Chalan Pago-Ordot, Barrigada, Yona, Agana Heights, Andersen AFB, Talofofo, Mongmong-Toto-Maite, Sinajana, Inarajan, Asan, Merizo, Piti, Santa Rita, and Umatac.

Showers developing to the west of Guam suggest potential for some of these showers to develop into thunderstorms. Be alert and take precautions as required. If outdoors, seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.

GHS/OCD Hosts Poster Contest for 2024 National Preparedness Month
Throughout the month of September, Guam will join the nation in celebrating National Preparedness Month (NPM) and promoting the importance of planning and preparing for man-made and natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods. This year’s NPM theme is, “Empowering Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities to Prepare for Risks and Disasters.”
U.S. Navy and Government of Guam to Participate in Joint Emergency Response Exercise
NAVAL BASE GUAM (Aug. 1, 2024) – The U.S. Navy and the Government of Guam are scheduled to conduct a joint emergency response exercise simulating a transportation incident involving a material shipment. The exercise will be held on Polaris Point, U.S. Naval Base Guam, Aug. 2.

GHS/OCD, NBG, and AAFB to Conduct Routine Testing of Advanced Warning Systems
GHS/OCD will test the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with NBG and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.
