AHAWS Sirens from Ft. Soledad, Humåtak and Yigo Gym Not Connected to Emergency

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) received reports of the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren from the Ft. Soledad, Humåtak location sounding off this morning and separate reports of the siren from the Yigo Gym location sounding off yesterday and today with test announcements.

The Humåtak AHAWS siren and the Yigo Gym AHAWS siren going off yesterday and this morning are NOT connected with any emergency situation. Assessments are being made on the systems to identify any issues and remediate as needed.

Future tests of the AHAWS sirens will be conducted on a monthly basis and will typically fall on the first Tuesday of each month, unless it falls on an observed holiday.
