JIC RELEASE NO. 144 - One Probable Case Reported from DLS

One new probable case of COVID-19 was reported to the Department of Public Health and Social Services from May 24–25, 2020. The case tested positive through serology testing at Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS). While polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing indicates current infection, serology testing indicates the presence of antibodies from past infection with SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that causes COVID-19. Cases that test positive only through serology testing are classified as probable cases.

JIC RELEASE NO. 143 - Emergency Food Distribution Program Update; Expanded Testing Continues; Limited Use of Public Parks and Beaches Remains in Effect

To date, there have been 166 cases confirmed through COVID-19 testing provided with 5 deaths and 138 released from isolation. As this is an evolving situation, information is subject to change with little to no notice. GHS/OCD and NBG to Conduct Routine Testing of Advanced Warning Systems

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) and U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, starting at 3:15 p.m.

GHS/OCD will test the nineteen All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with NBG monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.

JIC RELEASE NO. 139 - GPHL Closed on Monday; New Criteria for Release from Isolation;Expanded Testing Continues Next Week; GDOL Update; Public Parks and Beaches Remain Closed;CDC Guidance for Communities of Faith

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. Cumulative test results will be provided later today, if available. 

The GHPL will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no tests run on Monday. The GPHL will reopen on Tuesday. Physicians are reminded to follow storage requirements by ensuring specimens are refrigerated at 2-8°C.
