JIC RELEASE NO. 120 - One Tests Positive for COVID-19 from GRMC;Guam in PCOR2 - What’s Open, What’s Closed; Unemployment Programs Update; DPHSS Update

One additional COVID-19 case has been reported by the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) and will be included in this evening’s overall count.

To date, there have been 152 cases confirmed through COVID-19 testing provided with 5 deaths and 124 released from isolation. As this is an evolving situation, information is subject to change with little to no notice. 

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. Cumulative test results will be provided this evening once all tests from today are finalized.

Guam Receives Approval for Initial $276M for Unemployment Programs

Hagåtña, Guam – The Guam Department of Labor (GDOL) was recently notified of the approval of its initial increment of funds in the amount of $276 million toward the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) Programs. The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) accepted Guam’s budget request that was sent on April 28 for both the PUA and FPUC Programs.

JIC RELEASE NO. 118 - End of Day Results: Zero Test Positive for COVID-19 by DPHSS

The Guam Public Health Laboratory (GPHL) will be closed on Sunday, May 10, 2020. There will be no tests run. The GPHL will reopen on Monday. Physicians are reminded to follow storage requirements by ensuring specimens are refrigerated at 2-8°C. 

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. The cumulative total from all labs will be reported on a nightly basis, unless unavailable. The following breakdown provides cumulative COVID-19 test results for Saturday, May 9, 2020:

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. Cumulative test results will be provided this evening once all tests from today are finalized. The Guam Public Health Laboratory (GPHL) will be closed on Sunday, May 10, 2020. There will be no tests run. The GPHL will resume operations on Monday. Physicians are reminded to follow storage requirements by ensuring specimens are refrigerated at 2-8°C.
