GFD Firefighter Tests Positive For COVID-19

On October 27, the Guam Fire Department (GFD) was notified that a firefighter assigned to the Astumbo Fire Station tested positive for COVID-19. The firefighter reported feeling ill prior to reporting for duty and isolated at home as required by the GFD wellness policy and guidance from the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS). The firefighter remains in home isolation

Cohort quarantining is in effect at the Astumbo Fire Station pending results for remaining personnel. Cohort quarantining is a DPHSS approved practice of grouping asymptomatic personnel who were exposed to a confirmed COVID positive case. Emergency operations continue with adjustments made in scheduling for the firefighters assigned.
