JIC RELEASE NO. 154 - Two Positive Cases of COVID-19 Reported; Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; Returning Guam Residents to be Transferred to Home Quarantine; Expanded Testing Continues

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) from May 30-31, 2020. One is a confirmed case that tested positive by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) and reported household contact to two confirmed cases. The second is a probable case that tested positive through serology testing at Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS).

Flood Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution on the Road

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Guam, in effect until 11 a.m. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Two to three inches of rain has already fallen and an additional 1 to 2 inches is expected. This additional rainfall will result in minor flooding.  

Residents and visitors are advised to take the following precautionary actions:

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. Cumulative test results will be provided this evening once all tests from today are finalized.

Governor Leon Guerrero Signs Executive Order 2020-16
Today, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order (EO) 2020-16 relative to allowing additional activities during Pandemic Condition of Readiness (PCOR) 2.  

EO 2020-16 extends the public health emergency originally set to expire on May 30 to June 30, 2020. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 146 - One Probable Case Reported from GRMC; Guidance for Facial Coverings; Guidance for Dine-In Restaurants

One new probable case of COVID-19 was reported to the Department of Public Health and

Social Services (DPHSS) from the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC).


To date, there have been 170 cases confirmed through COVID-19 testing provided with 5 deaths, 143 released from isolation, and 22 active cases. As this is an evolving situation, information is subject to change with little to no notice.
