AHAWS Siren From Agana Heights Not Connected to Emergency

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) are aware of the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren located at the GHS/OCD office in Agana Heights sounding of the siren this morning and continuing.

The Agana Heights AHAWS siren is NOT connected with any emergency situation and assessments are being made on the system. Future tests of the AHAWS sirens will be conducted on a monthly basis and will typically fall on the first Tuesday of each month, unless it falls on an observed holiday.

374th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported

The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 374th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) Guam on July 13, 2022. The patient was a 54-year-old female, fully vaccinated with one booster, who tested positive on July 13.

COVID-19 Test Results: 149 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 149 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,206 specimens collected July 12, 2022. Twenty-three (23) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 53,363 officially reported cases, 373 deaths, 1,073 cases in active isolation, and 51,917 not in active isolation.

COVID-19 Test Results: 148 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 148 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,324 specimens collected July 11, 2022. Thirty-one (31) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 53,214 officially reported cases, 373 deaths, 1,023 cases in active isolation, and 51,818 not in active isolation.

Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported

The Joint Information Center was notified of two (2) COVID-19-related fatalities:

  • The 372nd COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on July 8, 2022. The patient was a 50-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on July 8.

One COVID-19-related Fatality Reported, COVID-19-related Fatalities Adjusted, 

The Joint Information Center was notified there is one (1) previously unreported COVID-19-related fatality that is being included today. The COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on June 13, 2022. The patient was a 93-year-old male, unvaccinated with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on April 11.

Governor Leon Guerrero Signs Executive Order No. 2022-17

On July 1, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order No. 2022-17, relative to extending the public health emergency. Effective today, the public health emergency declaration is now scheduled to expire on August 4, 2022.

COVID-19 Test Results: 169 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 169 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,209 specimens collected June 30, 2022. 22 of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 52,067 officially reported cases, 372 deaths, 688 cases in active isolation, and 51,007 not in active isolation.
