Cumulative COVID-19 Test Results: 48 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 48 new cases of COVID-19 from 677 specimens analyzed from tests administered September 9 – 11, 2022:

 
  • September 12: 6 of 184 test positive for COVID-19

Port Authority AHAWS Siren to be Tested Today, September 12

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) will conduct a test of the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren remotely from the Port Authority of Guam (PAG) location today, September 12, 2022, at 3 p.m.

The siren test from PAG is being conducted to assess operations. Residents, visitors and motorists surrounding the PAG AHAWS siren can expect to hear pre-scripted voice messaging announcing the start and end of the test, and the “Alert” tone.

Flood Advisory in Effect for Guam; Heavy Rainfall Expected Next Week

 

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flood advisory for Guam, in effect until 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is expected, resulting in minor flooding.

No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Papua New Guinea Earthquake

 

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 that occurred 67 km E of Kainantu, Papua New Guinea, with a depth of 61.4 km, at 9:46 a.m. (ChST).

 

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Northern Marianas at this time.

 

This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.

Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect Through This Afternoon

 

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory for the Guam International Airport Authority, in effect until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

Today, tde Department of Public Healtd and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 42 new cases of COVID-19 from 445 specimens collected September 8, 2022. Five (5) of tde cases reported today are tdrough tde Department of Defense. To date, tdere have been a total of 58,221 officially reported cases, 394 deatds, 332 cases in active isolation, and 57,495 not in active isolation.

COVID-19 Test Results: 21 New Cases Reported
Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 from 467 specimens collected September 7, 2022. Seven (7) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 58,179 officially reported cases, 394 deaths, 303 cases in active isolation, and 57,482 not in active isolation.

COVID-19 Test Results: 39 New Cases Reported

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 39 new cases of COVID-19 from 503 specimens collected September 6, 2022. Seven (7) of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 58,158 officially reported cases, 394 deaths, 323 cases in active isolation, and 57,441 not in active isolation.
