Earthquake Recorded Near Guam

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 that struck near the Guam region, with a depth of 51.4 km, at 4:08 a.m. (ChST).

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to the Marianas from the earthquake. 

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community that when an earthquake strikes, conduct the earthquake procedure, “Drop, Cover and Hold On” until the shaking stops.
