JIC Recovery Release No. 127 - Keep in Contact With FEMA for Continued Temporary Housing Assistance

For those Typhoon Mawar survivors who received initial rental assistance, it’s important to stay in touch with FEMA, as you may be eligible for continued rental assistance. The initial grant is for the first two months. If you have exhausted the initial amount and need more, you may apply for continued assistance in three-month periods – up to 18 months from the President’s major disaster declaration, or November 28, 2024.

There are a few simple steps to apply for Continued Temporary Housing Assistance:

Airport Wind Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued an airport wind advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 6:15 p.m. this evening. Winds from the east at 15 to 20 knots, with gusts to 25 to 30 knots, are expected.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice caution on the roadways, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
