JIC Release No. 7 - Emergency Shelters Now Open; Support for O2 Dependent Residents; Expectant Mothers Now Accepted; Healthcare Updates; Clarification on Emergency Declaration

Emergency Shelters Open Now:

If you need to evacuate to an emergency shelter, before you leave home, shut off your incoming electricity at the main breaker or switch, usually located by the electric meter or in the circuit breaker panel. If you are dependent on an electrically-powered life support system, consider having a backup generator. Otherwise, make plans ahead of time to go to an alternate location where electricity will be available. 

JIC Release No. 4 - Guam in COR 2; Bolaven Continues Approach to the Marianas

Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2. Concurrently, Joint Region Marianas (JRM), Naval Base Guam (NBG), Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB), and Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz (MCBCB) are in Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 2. The Department of Defense (DoD) will delay implementing some of the TCCOR2 actions to minimize impact to installation services. All essential and customer services that 

JIC Release No. 1 - Guam in COR 3 at 10 a.m. Today; Take Action to Prepare

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Rear Admiral Gregory Huffman anticipates placing Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness (COR) 3 at 10 a.m. this morning. At COR 3, damaging winds of 39-57 mph are expected within 48 hours. 

Joint Region Marianas, Naval Base Guam, Andersen Air Force Base, and Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz will also establish COR 3. All Military installations on Guam are currently securing facilities and housing residents are urged to commence heavy weather preparedness efforts in COR 3. 

Press Release - 15W Upgraded to Tropical Storm Bolaven

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor what is now Tropical Storm Bolaven, formerly known as Tropical Depression 15W, as it becomes better organized. 

As of 1 a.m., Tropical Storm Bolaven was located near 9.8 degrees north latitude and 153.0 degrees east longitude, about 610 miles east-southeast of Guam, moving west at 6 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. Bolaven is forecast to intensify through Monday, possibly becoming a typhoon by Monday afternoon.
