The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a hydrologic outlook for the Marianas. A surface troughing pattern will be arriving from the southeast and developing over the Mariana Islands this week. Three to five inches of rainfall are expected Thursday and Friday, with locally higher amounts likely. Rain showers will likely linger through Saturday into Sunday with additional rainfall accumulations.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), will host the following training opportunities at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights:

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 that struck 120 km SSW of Merizo Village, Guam, with a depth of 10.0 km, at 7:27 p.m. (ChST).

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to the Marianas from the earthquake. There were no major damages or injuries reported from the earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 that occurred 95 km WSW of Sangay, Philippines with a depth of 621.0 km, at 12:13 p.m. (ChST).

 As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam and the CNMI from this earthquake.  

 This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 3 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport. Be alert and take precautions as required. These storms have been producing occasional lightning.
