NWS Issues Short Term Forecast for Guam; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued a short term forecast, in effect for Guam. Now through 7 p.m., scattered showers will continue to drop locally heavy rain of up to an additional inch across southern Guam, with brief local flooding likely in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

If driving, be alert for poor visibilities in very heavy rain and watch for local flooding of roads. 

NWS Issues Short Term Forecast and Thunderstorm Advisory; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued a short term forecast, in effect for Guam. Now through 8 a.m., slow-moving showers will bring 1 to 2 inches of rain to portions of central and northern Guam.

 

If driving, be alert for low visibilities in very heavy rain and watch for local flooding of roads.  

 

A thunderstorm advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport until 10 a.m. this morning. Thunderstorms are possible within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

 

Tropical Storm Warning Cancelled for Guam; GovGuam Resumes Normal Operations

At 2 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam, advised Tropical Storm Maria continues to move away from Guam and Rota.
 
NWS cancelled the Tropical Storm Warning for Guam, only. The Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Rota, Tinian and Saipan.
 
The following advisories are still in effect:
A flash flood watch remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan, through Friday morning. Heaviest rainfall is expected through tonight though rainfall could linger into Friday. Rainfall amounts of 4-6 inches are possible.
