No Immediate Threat Assessed from Reported North Korea Missile Tests

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the launch of two unidentified projectiles out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), today.

The reported projectiles were launched from North Korea’s eastern coast into the Sea of Japan. There was no indication the reported tests posed an immediate threat to Guam or the Marianas.

“The launches out of North Korea are a testament to how important it is to keep plans and procedures up to date,” stated Homeland Security Advisor Tim Aguon. “Guam Homeland Security, along with our local, military and federal partners, will continue to monitor the events surrounding the incidents.”
