JIC Release No. 9 - Typhoon Yutu: Affected flights

Updated flight information from Jeju Air and T’Way Air.

The A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport Authority (GIAA) issued an updated flight schedule for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 as a result of Typhoon Yutu. 

Jeju Air has cancelled flights 7C3172 and 7C3171 between Kansai International Airport and Guam.

T’Way Air has cancelled flights TW301/302 between Incheon International Airport and Guam. 

JIC Release No. 11 - Super Typhoon Yutu Expected to Bring Damaging Winds to Guam

Governor Eddie Calvo anticipates issuing a Condition of Readiness 1 (COR) for the island at 5 p.m. today, and Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, commander, Joint Region Marianas is placing the island’s military installations in COR 1 at the same time. 

This evening, we expect damaging winds of 39-57 mph. It is important to note that any southward shift of the storm’s path will bring stronger winds and more rain.

JIC Release No. 8 - Price Gouging Statement

Governor Eddie Baza Calvo has declared Guam in Condition of Readiness 2 and the island continues preparation for Typhoon Yutu. 

With this declaration, the Office of the Attorney General of Guam urges residents to watch for price inflation on goods and services purchased for the impending storm. 

The price of items such as non-perishable food items, water, gasoline, batteries, propane and lumber must stay at its fixed price now that we are in COR2. It must stay at its fixed price for three days after Guam returns to normal weather conditions - COR4. 

JIC Release No. 5 - Emergency Shelters to Open at 2 p.m.; Residents Urged to Prepare

The Guam Department of Education will open eight (8) primary emergency shelters at 2 p.m. today, October 24, 2018. Residents who need emergency shelter are urged to be at the shelters closest to their homes as early as 2 p.m., before damaging winds arrive, which is expected around 6 p.m. today.

 

Governor Eddie Baza Calvo and Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, commander, Joint Region Marianas, will place Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 at noon today.
