The National Weather Service (NWS) – Guam Weather Forecast Office advise catastrophic winds for Tinian and Saipan are occurring.
As of 1a.m., Yutu was located 14.8 degrees north latitude and 145.7 degrees east longitude, about 115 miles northeast of Guam, 20 miles south of Saipan and 15 miles south-southeast of Tinian. Yutu is moving northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 180 mph.
The eye of the storm will pass over Tinian over the next couple of hours.
The National Weather Service (NWS) – Guam Weather Forecast Office advises an extremely dangerous situation is developing for Saipan and Tinian as strongest winds of Super Typhoon Yutu will begin to impact them in the next hour. Over the next several hours, Yutu will bring catastrophic damage to both Saipan and Tinian.
Guam is still in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Damaging winds of 39 mph or more are expected as Super Typhoon Yutu has shifted slightly to the north. Peak winds of 46 mph were reported. Gusts of 46 mph up to 60 mph are still expected between midnight through early morning Thursday.

Guam remains in Condition of Readiness 1. The following school updates have been provided:
· Guam Department of Education also will not have classes tomorrow. Once COR4 is declared, GDOE will announce when 12-month employees should report to their schools or offices. Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for Thursday are also cancelled.
Updated flight information from Jeju Air and T’Way Air.
The A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport Authority (GIAA) issued an updated flight schedule for Wednesday, October 24, 2018 as a result of Typhoon Yutu.
Jeju Air has cancelled flights 7C3172 and 7C3171 between Kansai International Airport and Guam.
T’Way Air has cancelled flights TW301/302 between Incheon International Airport and Guam.
Governor Eddie Calvo anticipates issuing a Condition of Readiness 1 (COR) for the island at 5 p.m. today, and Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, commander, Joint Region Marianas is placing the island’s military installations in COR 1 at the same time.
This evening, we expect damaging winds of 39-57 mph. It is important to note that any southward shift of the storm’s path will bring stronger winds and more rain.
