GHS/OCD Host Virtual Disaster Debris Management Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), will host the Planning for Disaster Debris Management (MGT-460) training virtually on Monday, June 21 to Tuesday, June 22, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.  

The two-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is meant to enable participants to outline a disaster debris management plan and recognize special considerations when planning for debris management after a natural disaster.

JIC RELEASE NO. 701 - Five of 517 Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Five New Cases of COVID-19
Five (5) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 517 tests performed Wednesday, June 16. Two (2) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,266 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 56 cases in active isolation, and 8,071 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.4.

GHS/OCD Host ICS-300 & 400 Trainings

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Defense Coordinating Element (DCE), will host two Incident Command System (ICS) training opportunities at the DCE Tactical Operation Center, Santa Rita Complex Bldg. 4179, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday, June 21 through Friday, June 25, 2021.

The two courses are ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents and ICS 400: Advanced ICS Command and General Staff. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 699 - 17 COVID-19 Cases with Variants of Concern Identified on Guam; Community Reminded to Practice Caution; Seven of 550 Test Positive for COVID-19;COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) received 17 new results from virus samples collected on Guam which have undergone genome sequencing by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Virus samples were collected between April 2021 and May 2021. To date, a total of 138 SARS-CoV-2 virus samples have been submitted to the CDC for genome sequencing.

Results: Eight New Cases of COVID-19
Eight (8) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 1,086 tests performed from Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13. Three (3) cases were identified through contact tracing. Three (3) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,244 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 42 cases in active isolation, and 8,063 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.4.

Port Authority AHAWS Siren to be Tested June 14

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) will conduct a test of the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren remotely from the Port Authority of Guam (PAG) location tomorrow, June 14, 2021, beginning at 3 p.m.

The siren test from PAG is being conducted to assess operations. Residents, visitors and motorists surrounding the PAG AHAWS siren can expect to hear pre-scripted voice messaging announcing the start and end of the test, and the “Alert” tone.
