171st COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 171st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City at approximately 12:46 p.m. today. The patient was a 65-year-old female, unvaccinated, with multiple underlying health conditions.

No Immediate Threat Assessed from Reported North Korea Missile Launch

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile off the east coast of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified of two (2) additional COVID-related fatalities reported on September 13, 2021:

Four COVID-19-Related Fatalities Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified of four (4) COVID-19-related fatalities occurring at U.S. Naval Hospital on September 8, 2021:

155th COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 155th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital at approximately 8:03 p.m. on September 8, 2021. The patient was a 54-year-old male, vaccinated, with multiple underlying health conditions, who tested positive upon arrival.

154th COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 154th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on September 7, 2021. The patient was a John Doe, who tested positive upon arrival without any verifiable record of COVID-19 vaccination. 

Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 4:30 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

Be alert and take precautions as required. If lightning is seen or thunder is heard, remain indoors.
