JIC RELEASE NO. 711 - 140th COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported; Sixteen of 1,012 Test Positive for COVID-19;UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

140th COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 140th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the U.S. Naval Hospital (USNH) at approximately 3:04 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2021. The patient was a 75-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. He was admitted to USNH on June 21, 2021 and tested positive upon admission. 

Port Authority AHAWS Siren to be Tested June 29

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) will conduct a test of the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) siren remotely from the Port Authority of Guam (PAG) location tomorrow, June 29, 2021, beginning at 3 p.m. 

The siren test from PAG is being conducted to assess operations. Residents, visitors and motorists surrounding the PAG AHAWS siren can expect to hear pre-scripted voice messaging announcing the start and end of the test, and the “Alert” tone.

GHS/OCD, JRM, NBG, and AAFB to Conduct Routine Testing of Advanced Warning Systems

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, starting at 3:15 p.m.

GHS/OCD will test the nineteen (19) All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with JRM, NBG, and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.

JIC RELEASE NO. 710 - Twelve of 265 Test Positive for COVID-19;UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Twelve New Cases of COVID-19
Twelve (12) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 265 tests performed Thursday, June 24. Eight (8) cases were identified through contact tracing. Two (2) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,328 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 85 cases in active isolation, and 8,104 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 1. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 709 - Six of 616 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Six New Cases of COVID-19
Six (6) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 616 tests performed Wednesday, June 23. Four (4) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,316 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 79 cases in active isolation, and 8,098 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.6. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 708 - Six of 363 Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Results: Six New Cases of COVID-19
Six (6) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 363 tests performed Tuesday, June 22. To date, there have been a total of 8,310 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 73 cases in active isolation, and 8,098 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.6. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 707 - Twenty of 432 Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Results: Twenty New Cases of COVID-19
Twenty (20) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 432 tests performed Monday, June 21. Eighteen (18) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,304 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 69 cases in active isolation, and 8,096 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.7. 

JIC Release No. 4 - TD 06W CPA has passed; Notice of GDOE Classes Canceled; GPA Respond to Outages; Report Impassable Roadways to the JIC

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam continues to monitor Tropical Depression 06W. As of 7 a.m., 06W was located 13.1 degrees north latitude and 144.1 degrees east longitude, about 50 miles west-southwest of Guam. It is currently moving northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. 

TD 06W JIC Release No. 3 - Guam Remains in COR 3, Normal Operations Continue

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam continues to monitor Tropical Depression 06W. Tropical Depression 06W will continue northwest and is expected to pass about 50 miles southwest of Guam making its closest approach around 6 a.m., then continue on a northwest track today and tonight, taking 06W out to the west of Guam by noon as it gradually intensifies into a tropical storm.
