The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.
“GHS/OCD was informed that there was no immediate threat assessed for Guam or the Marianas from the reported launch,” said Homeland Security Advisor, Samantha Brennan. “Events such as these are a stark reminder that the community should always assess their current plans in place and be prepared to respond to all hazards, whether natural or human-caused. GHS/OCD, along with local, federal, and military partners will continue to monitor events surrounding the region and provide updates as needed.”
