No Immediate Threat Assessed from Reported North Korea Missile Launch

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.

“With the open lines of communication between GHS/OCD and our military and federal partners, the agency was able to receive notice that there was no immediate threat assessed from the launch out of North Korea,” said Homeland Security Advisor, Samantha Brennan. “We are grateful for the partnerships in place with all stakeholders, in order to accurately produce quick and most sound notifications to our community in order to prepare for any emergencies, whether natural or human-caused.”
