JIC Release No. 3 - COR 1 at Midnight; Shelter Updates; Nov 13 Missile Defense Agency Meeting Canceled in Hågat

COR 1 at Midnight Tonight
Acting Governor Josh Tenorio will declare Condition of Readiness (COR) 1 at midnight tonight. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan meaning tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more, are expected early Wednesday morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of Guam and the Northern Marianas. Additionally, a Coast Flood Advisory and Rip Current Statement remain in effect. Tropical Storm Man-Yi is projected to impact early Wednesday through Wednesday evening. As of 11 p.m. ChST, Tropical Storm Man-Yi is 100 miles east of Guam, moving West-Southwest toward Guam at 12 mph with sustained winds at 45mph.

Individuals and families in need of shelter may still seek refuge at any of the above schools. Those seeking shelter are encouraged to bring essential items such as a 7-day supply of food and water, bedding, personal hygiene products, medication, and important documents including identification and medical records.

Missile Defense Agency Meeting Canceled in Hagat
Out of an abundance of caution due to the incoming inclement weather, the Missile Defense Agency meeting for public comment on the Environmental Impact Study for the Guam Defense System is canceled for Wednesday, Nov. 13 in Hågat only. The meetings on Thursday and Friday at the Hilton Guam Resort and Dededo Senior Center respectively, remain on schedule at this time.

  • Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4-7 p.m. at the Hilton Guam Resort, Micronesian Room

  •  Friday, Nov. 15 from 5-8 p.m. at the Dededo Senior Center
