Two COVID-19-related Fatalities Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified of two (2) COVID-19-related fatalities:
The 340th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) on March 10, 2022. The patient was a 69-year-old male, vaccinated with a booster, who had underlying health conditions and tested positive on February 28.
COVID-19 Test Results: 65 New Cases
Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 65 new cases of COVID-19 from 539 specimens analyzed on March 15, 2022. Five of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 46,593 officially reported cases, 339 deaths, 1,059 cases in active isolation, and 45,195 not in active isolation.
23 Hospitalized for COVID-19
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), today.
339th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 339th COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on March 14, 2022. The patient was an 87-year-old male, vaccinated with a booster, with underlying health conditions and tested positive on March 14.

338th COVID-19-related Fatality Reported
Today, the Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 338th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital on March 14, 2022. The patient was a 55-year-old male, partially vaccinated, with underlying health conditions and tested positive on February 21.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has issued a red flag warning for Guam, in effect until 5 p.m. this afternoon. A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph are expected through this afternoon.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
