Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, and hazardous sea conditions are expected to persist through the evening.

Visitor Safety
The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority (GIAA) remind all hotel and industry partners to provide visitors with updated information, including the following:

    Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. The island continues to experience prolonged weather effects, including heavy rain bands and damaging wind gusts, which are expected to persist through the evening. Assessments will be made Thursday morning to determine if it's possible to move to Condition of Readiness (COR) 4. To ensure public safety and allow emergency responders to conduct essential assessments, residents must remain indoors and off the roads until the "All Clear" is officially announced and the island transitions to COR 4.

    Road Hazards Update

    At 11:55 a.m., the Guam Police Department (GPD) reported Chalan Palasyo (Snake Road), Maina is impassable due to a downed tree. The community is reminded to remain indoors until Condition of Readiness (COR) 4. If movement is absolutely necessary, use extreme caution. Be aware of dangerous hazards, including downed power lines, damaged trees, and debris in the roadway. Assume all downed lines are live and dangerous.

    Tropical Storm Force Winds Continue on Guam

    From the latest brief from the National Weather Service, the eye of Typhoon Sinlaku has only moved 25 miles over the last 14 hours, which further highlights just how slow-moving the system has been, making it an extended period event.

    Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Joint Region Marianas remains in TCCOR 1E, indicating destructive winds of 50 knots (57 mph) or greater are occurring. Installation access points are closed, with the exception of U.S. Naval Hospital Guam for emergency department access only. REMAIN INDOORS UNTIL COR 4 IS ANNOUNCED.

    Sinlaku is slow moving. This is an extended period event. Guam can expect:

    Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Joint Region Marianas remains in TCCOR 1E, indicating destructive winds of 50 knots (57 mph) or greater are occurring. Installation access points are closed, with the exception of U.S. Naval Hospital Guam for emergency department access only. REMAIN INDOORS UNTIL COR 4 IS ANNOUNCED.

    As NWS forecast, peak conditions continue into Tuesday night. Rainbands are currently moving over Guam.  Gusts between 70-80 mph have already been recorded on the island, and may persist until Wednesday morning.

    Guam, and the respective military bases, remain in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1, and Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 1. REMAIN INDOORS UNTIL COR 4 IS ANNOUNCED.

    Guam remains under both a tropical storm warning and a typhoon watch. As of 2 p.m., Sinlaku was located 14.6N and 146.1E, 100 miles northeast of Guam. It is moving northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph. Rainbands continue to move over Guam. Gusts between 70-80 mph have already been recorded on Guam.
