JIC Release No. 27 - Hazardous Wind and Sea Conditions; Visitor Safety; Flights Suspended; Dialysis Center Updates; DYA GSYEP Update

Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, and hazardous sea conditions are expected to persist through the evening.

Visitor Safety
The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority (GIAA) remind all hotel and industry partners to provide visitors with updated information, including the following: 
  • Stay Indoors: For safety, residents and visitors must remain indoors and off the roads until the "All Clear" is officially announced and the island transitions to COR 4.
  • Stay out of the water: Conditions are life threatening. Dangerous sea conditions are expected to last until the end of the week.

Flights Suspended: The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam (GIAA) advises the public that all inbound and outbound flights are currently suspended as Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. Flight service is expected to resume within the next 48-72 hours.

All Fresenius Dialysis Centers have resumed operations. Patients are advised to contact their respective dialysis clinic directly to coordinate treatment, regardless of their regular schedule. Dialysis center contact information:

DYA GSYEP Childcare Application Acceptance Postponed
The Department of Youth Affairs is postponing the 2026 Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (GSYEP) childcare application period, originally set for April 17–24, due to current weather conditions.

DYA will review facility and staffing status after the storm and announce new submission dates when it is safe and possible.
