The American Red Cross announced the availability of financial assistance for residents whose primary homes were destroyed or suffered major damage due to Super Typhoon Sinlaku. This assistance is independent of government programs and is intended to support immediate recovery needs.
American Red Cross Service Delivery Site Caseworkers will be available on-site to assist residents with applications:

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam issued an airport wind advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 7 p.m. this evening. Winds from east-northeast at 15 to 20 knots, with gusts to 30 knots are possible. Practice caution while traveling in these conditions.
Government of Guam Activates Cyber Incident Response; Global Vulnerability Under Investigation
Governor Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero today confirmed that the Government of Guam is actively responding to a widespread cyber incident linked to a critical zero-day vulnerability affecting cPanel-hosted websites globally.
Governor Leon Guerrero and Acting Governor Joshua F. Tenorio have been fully briefed. An immediate, government-wide assessment of all potentially impacted agencies has been ordered.
As the Government of Guam, working with partner agencies, continues recovery efforts following Typhoon Sinlaku, coordinated assessments are underway to determine the full extent of the storm’s impact on island infrastructure.
Damage Assessment Training Conducted
The Guam Fire Department (GFD) advises the community that temporary fire permit exemptions will expire on April 30, 2026.
Effective Friday, May 1, 2026, the following standard fire regulations will be reinstated:
Fuel Storage: A GFD permit is required for the storage of more than 10 gallons of gasoline or 60 gallons of diesel. The temporary 20-gallon waiver will no longer be in effect.
Open Burning: All open burning of green waste or debris will once again require a formal GFD burning permit.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, starting at 3:15 p.m.
GHS/OCD will test the All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with NBG and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.
