The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office continue to monitor a disturbance expected to pass near Koror, Palau Friday or Saturday. While there is no direct threat to the Marianas from the disturbance, the following advisories are in effect:
The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office has the following advisories in effect:
A high surf advisory is in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan through tonight, meaning high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. Hazardous surf of 8 to 10 feet along north facing reefs and as high as 10 feet along east facing reefs is expected.
The Guam Department of Education (DOE), in collaboration with the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), the Youth Preparedness Program, the Service Leaning Committee, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will host the 2019 Service Learning and Youth and Community Preparedness Summit:
