COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Continue for School-Based Employees 
The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), in collaboration with the Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC), American Medical Center (AMC) and the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) will hold vaccination clinics throughout the week for school-based employees. GRMC is hosting a vaccination clinic today and will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, January 26 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Employees from the following schools will be accepted at GRMC: 

GHS/OCD, JRM, NBG, and AAFB to Conduct Routine Testing of Advanced Warning Systems

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, starting at 3:15 p.m.

 

GHS/OCD will test the nineteen (19) All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with JRM, NBG, and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.

 

JIC RELEASE NO. 547 - Results: Zero of 103 Test Positive for COVID-19;COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Schedule for the Week of January 26 – 30

Results: No New Cases of COVID-19
No new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 103 tests performed on Saturday, January 23. 

To date, there have been a total of 7,547 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 128 deaths, 126 cases in active isolation and 7,293 not in active isolation.

Results: No New Cases of COVID-19
No new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 151 tests performed on Friday, January 22. 

To date, there have been a total of 7,547 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 128 deaths, 126 cases in active isolation and 7,293 not in active isolation.

JIC RELEASE NO. 545 - Results: 19 of 370 Test Positive for COVID-19; More Enrolled Providers Receive Vaccines; Division of Environmental Health’s Operations Relative to PCOR2

Results: 19 New Cases of COVID-19
Nineteen (19) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 370 tests performed on Thursday, January 21. Fourteen (14) cases were identified through contact tracing. Two (2) cases reported recent travel and were identified in quarantine.

To date, there have been a total of 7,547 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 128 deaths, 126 cases in active isolation and 7,293 not in active isolation.

VAPPC Expands Eligibility Criteria for Vaccines
During its last meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee (VAPPC) approved the expansion of the Phase 1b category to include public and private school-based staff and school bus drivers, and Guam-based flight crew. The VAPPC also approved expanding the eligibility criteria under the Phase 1c category, focusing on specific target groups like the homeless population who are in residential programs and individuals with disabilities.

JIC RELEASE NO. 543 - Results: 7 of 644 Test Positive for COVID-19;SNAP Supplemental Emergency Allotment Issuances for January 2021; Food Commodities Distribution Through Village Mayors Continues;COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Schedule for January 22 and 23

Results: Seven New Cases of COVID-19
Seven (7) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 644 tests performed on Wednesday, January 20. Seven (7) cases reported recent travel and were identified in quarantine.

To date, there have been a total of 7,528 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 128 deaths, 121 cases in active isolation and 7,279 not in active isolation.

Press Release- NWS Advisories in Effect; Practice Caution in Hazardous Weather

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Guam until 4:15 p.m. A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Heavy rain will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding across Guam. One to two inches of rain have already fallen. Additional rainfall of up to two inches is expected in the next two hours.

Results: Six New Cases of COVID-19
Six (6) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 565 tests performed on Tuesday, January 19. One (1) case reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. 

To date, there have been a total of 7,521 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 128 deaths, 119 cases in active isolation and 7,274 not in active isolation.

NWS Extends Rip Current Statement; Avoid Hazardous Waters

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a rip current statement for Guam.

A high rip current risk remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan on east facing reefs of the Mariana Islands until Sunday evening.

NWS also advised that rip currents will likely continue through Sunday and briefly subside Monday, but are expected to return by next Wednesday.
