The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam advised strong daytime winds may lead to rapid fire spread across parts of Guam.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has issued fire weather watch for Guam, in effect through Thursday afternoon. A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
Sustained winds at 20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph are expected. The combination of strong winds and 55 to 60 % humidity will create ideal conditions for the rapid spread of wildfires. Any fires that develop may spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) received the second set of results from virus samples that have been collected on Guam and have undergone genome sequencing by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
