JIC RELEASE NO. 629 - Three of 378 Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Vaccination Schedule;COVID-19 Community Testing

Results: Three New Cases of COVID-19
Three (3) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 378 tests performed Thursday, April 8. To date, there have been a total of 7,833 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 136 deaths, 27 cases in active isolation, and 7,670 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.2.

Fire Weather Watch in Effect for Guam Through the Weekend; Outdoor Burning is Not Recommended

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued a fire weather watch in effect for Guam through Sunday afternoon. A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.

Winds at 14 to 17 mph are expected and near 60 % humidity. The highest threat will be for central and eastern parts of Guam. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Results: Three New Cases of COVID-19
Three (3) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 568 tests performed Tuesday, April 6. One (1) case was identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 7,828 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 136 deaths, 30 cases in active isolation, and 7,662 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.2.

NWS Issues Short Term Forecast; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 3 p.m., brief thunderstorms will produce moderate to heavy showers over Guam. Between a half inch of rain and lower visibility is expected in these thunderstorms.

If driving, be alert for lower visibility and ponding of water on the roadways.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 6 p.m., moderate to heavy showers will persist over the southwest coast of Guam from near Asan southward to Merizo, including Route 1. About a quarter inch of rain has fallen for the past hour and additional rainfall of a quarter inch is expected for the next two hours.
 

If driving, be alert for lower visibility and ponding of water on the roadways.
 

JIC RELEASE NO. 626 - Two of 494 Test Positive for COVID-19; COVID-19 Community Testing Schedule; COVID-19 Vaccination Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Schedule

Results: Two New Cases of COVID-19
Two (2) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 494 tests performed Monday, April 5. Two (2) cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 7,825 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 136 deaths, 28 cases in active isolation, and 7,661 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.2.

Results: No New Cases of COVID-19
No new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 104 tests performed on Saturday, April 3. To date, there have been a total of 7,816 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 136 deaths, 31 cases in active isolation, and 7,649 not in active isolation.
