DPHSS Issues Guidance Memo 2021-09 Revision 1
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) invite the community to participate in Earthquake Preparedness Week (EPW), August 2-8, 2021. To commemorate the week, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero will declare the week as EPW with a proclamation signing on Friday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m., via Zoom and can be watched on the Governor’s Facebook page.
GHS/OCD’s EPW is a chance to promote earthquake preparedness as an active collaboration among federal, territorial and local emergency management agencies, community leaders, and the public.
DPHSS Issues Guidance Memo 2021-18
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.3 and later upgraded to an 8.2, that occurred 91 km ESE of Perryville, Alaska, at 4:15 p.m. ChST, with a depth of 46.7 km.
As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is NO tsunami threat to Guam or the Marianas at this time.
This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.
Guam Reaches Operation Liberate Guam Goal, EO No. 2021-16 in Effect July 30
Today, Acting Governor Josh Tenorio announced that Guam has reached the Operation Liberate Guam goal of 80% full vaccination rate.
Results: Eight New Cases of COVID-19
Eight (8) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 397 tests performed on July 27. Four (4) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,522 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 143 deaths, 54 cases in active isolation, and 8,325 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.2.

Eight (8) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 518 tests performed on July 26. To date, there have been a total of 8,514 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 143 deaths, 52 cases in active isolation, and 8,319 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.3.
