Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Rear Admiral Brent De Vore will place Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness (COR) 4 at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Tropical Depssion Bebinca (14W) has been upgraded to a Tropical Storm and is 110 miles west-northwest of Guam, moving west-northwest at 13mph with maximum sustained winds of 40mph. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Tropical storm conditions continue, but are gradually subsiding.

At this time, Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 3. At COR 3, Government of Guam remains open and employees are expected to report to work today, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Tropical Depssion Bebinca (14W) has been upgraded to a Tropical Storm and is 55 miles west of Guam, moving northwest at 13mph. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Tropical storm conditions, including winds at least 39 mph, are expected through the rest of the morning, then may slowly decrease this afternoon. Heavy rain and gusty winds will be slow to decrease due to the monsoon flow east and south of Tropical Storm Bebinca.

Tropical Depression 14W is 60 miles southeast of Guam, moving northwest toward Guam at 21mph. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Tropical storm conditions, including winds at least 39 mph, are expected over the next few hours.

At this time, Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 3. At COR 3, Government of Guam remains open and employees are expected to report to work on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued 14W Advisory 2. Tropical Depression 14W is moving northwest toward Guam.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Tropical storm conditions, including winds at least 39 mph, are expected by early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a high surf warning and coastal flood advisory, in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan, until 6pm Wednesday.

For the High Surf Warning, dangerously large breaking waves of 12 to 17 feet in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding.

In response to the impending weather conditions, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero has declared Guam to be in Condition of Readiness 3 (COR 3) as of 3:00 p.m. This status indicates that damaging winds of 39-57 mph are anticipated within the next 48 hours. Consequently, the Guam Department of Education announced the cancellation of classes on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, to ensure the safety of students and staff. However, all employees at the Tiyan Central Office are required to report to work.
