JIC Release No. 32 - MEDICAL SERVICES UPDATE; All elective services suspended until COR4

The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority opened its doors to shelter women at least 36 weeks pregnant, or who are 6 months into a high-risk pregnancy as early as Condition of Readiness (COR) 2.

The Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC) has suspended all visiting hours and cancelled all outpatient elective surgeries until further notice. All expectant mothers currently at GRMC will remain in the hospital for the duration of Typhoon Mangkhut, until it is determined to be safe for them to return to their homes. JIC Release No. 31 - Weather Update: Guam remains in COR1; Winds Expected to Pick Up Throughout the Day

The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor Typhoon Mangkhut as it strengthens and moves westward.
 
Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1.
 
As of 5 a.m., Mangkhut is located near 14.7 degrees north latitude and 149.1degrees east longitude, about 305 miles east-northeast of Guam, and 225 miles east of Saipan. Maximum sustained winds are 90 gusting 110 mph. 
 

JIC Release No. 30 - Guam in COR 1

Governor Eddie Baza Calvo places Guam in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. COR1 means destructive winds are possible within the next 12 hours.

As of 1 a.m., Typhoon Mangkhut was located 15.0 degrees north latitude and 149.9 degrees east longitude. It is currently 360 miles east-northeast of Guam and 280 miles east of Saipan moving toward the west.

Mangkhut has a current intensity of 85 mph sustained winds. On its current track, it is forecasted to make its closest point of approach (CPA) to Guam around 8 p.m. on Monday.

JIC Release No. 28 - TWO NORTHERN SHELTERS FULL: RESIDENTS DIVERTED


Northern residents seeking shelter should proceed to M.A. Ulloa Elementary, Juan M. Guerrero Elementary, or Wettengel Elemenetary. Once shelters reach capacity, seek nearest alternative Storm Shelter.

Residents who believe their home is not safe against heavy winds and rains or live in low-lying or flood-prone areas are encouraged to move to a designated storm shelter.

Astumbo Elementary and F.B. Leon Guerrero shelters have reached maximum capacity and can NO LONGER ACCEPT RESIDENTS.

JIC Release No. 27 - NORTHERN SHELTERS NEARING MAX CAPACITY

Northern residents seeking shelter should proceed to M.A. Ulloa Elementary, Juan M. Guerrero Elementary, or Wettengel Elemenetary. Once shelters reach capacity, seek nearest alternative Storm Shelter.
