NWS Issues Short Term Forecast; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short-term forecast for Guam and Guam coastal waters.

Through 3 p.m., scattered showers and thunderstorms will drop briefly heavy rain and produce occasional cloud-to-ground lightning over portions of central Guam and adjacent waters. If driving, be alert for ponding of water on the road, and for low visibility in heavy rain.

NWS Issues Thunderstorm Advisory; Showers Expected for Today

The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory for the Guam International Airport until 8:30 a.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.  

NWS continue to monitor a weak circulation southwest of Guam and a surface trough just to the southeast. As the trough moves over Guam, it will maintain showers and thunderstorms for Guam today and then Saipan and Tinian tonight. Drier weather is expected Tuesday.

The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory for the Guam International Airport until 4 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.  

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to be alert and take precautions by seeking shelter when lightning is seen or thunder is heard.
