JIC RELEASE NO. 847 - Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccines Arrive; Vaccinations for Children Ages 5-11 to Begin Tuesday

The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) received the much-anticipated shipment of 7,500 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccines. DPHSS continues to collaborate with key stakeholders, such as the Guam Department of Education (GDOE), Catholic, charter and private schools to plan for and schedule school-based immunization of the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine. DPHSS continues to communicate with enrolled providers to plan for expansion of vaccinations to pediatric populations.

GHS/OCD Host ICS-300 & 400 Trainings

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Port Authority of Guam (PAG), will host two Incident Command System (ICS) training opportunities at the PAG, Training Room, Piti. The courses follow:

·  ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents – Monday, November 15 – Wednesday, November 17, 2021, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· ICS-400: Advanced ICS Command and General Staff – Thursday, November 18 – Friday, November 19, 2021, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Three COVID-19-Related Fatalities Reported
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified of three (3) COVID-19-related fatalities.

JIC RELEASE NO. 842 - Vaccination Clinic Available Today at Northern Region Community Health Center

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) is conducting a vaccination clinic today, November 4, at the Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) in Dededo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The NRCHC Vaccination Clinic is open to anyone who meets the current eligibility criteria for dose 1 and 2 of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines, or the single-dose Johnson and Johnson/Janssen Vaccine. It is also open to those seeking a booster shot.
