JIC Release No. 7 - Water Tanker Locations; Boil Water Notice Remains in Place
The Guam Waterworks Authority (GWA) has stationed four water tanks in designated areas of the island to support water needs as GWA assesses areas that need full water restoration.
The designated locations for the 4,000-6,000 gallon tankers include:
- Santa Teresita, Mangilao
- Ordot-Chalan Pago Mayor’s Office, Chalan Pago
- St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Inalåhan
- Dededo Mayor’s Office, Dededo

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has the following advisories in effect:
A high surf warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan until 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023. Dangerously large breaking waves of 10 to 15 feet are expected in the surf zone of south and west-facing reefs. A high risk of rip currents is in effect through Saturday afternoon and can sweep even the best swimmers away from the shore into deeper water.

The Guam Power Authority (GPA) continues its restoration and post-typhoon recovery efforts. GPA reports that as of 1:00 p.m.:

3.8% of the System Load (Customer Demand) has been restored.

41.4% of GPA’s Substation Energization has been restored.

15.9% of GPA’s feeders/ circuits have been energized/restored.
JIC Recovery Release No. 4 - Operational Bank ATMs and Services; Price Gouging Prohibited
Operational Bank ATMs and Services:
Bank of Guam: ATMs and online banking are currently unavailable. Merchant services are up and running. The use of debit and credit cards is encouraged when possible. Yigo Branch is open for cash-only withdrawals limited to $250 per customer.

JIC Recovery Release No. 2 - Emergency Shelters Update; Guam EPA Updates; Services That Are Operational
Effectively immediately the AsTumbo Elementary School, B.P. Carbullido Elementary School, and Merizo Martyrs Memorial School shelters are closed. Residents who have been displaced by Typhoon Mawar can seek safety at the following emergency shelters:
Northern Emergency Shelters: Maria A. Ulloa Elementary School, Upi Elementary School, and Wettengel Elementary School
Central Emergency Shelters: George Washington High School
JIC Recovery Release No. 1 - Recovery Efforts Continue
Critical and Essential GovGuam Employees:
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero placed the island in Condition of Readiness (COR). All essential and critical Government of Guam employees are to report to the worksite to assess for damages. All others are to report to their supervisors. For agencies whose payroll is processed by the Department of Administration, payroll data was transmitted earlier this week.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero has placed the island in Condition of Readiness (COR) 4 as of 5 p.m. today, May 25, 2023, in the wake of Typhoon Mawar’s exit from the Marianas.
JIC Release No. 29 - Boil Water Notice; Water Conservation
The Guam Waterworks Authority (GWA) is advising customers to conserve water and has issued a boil water notice due to possible bacterial contamination in the water that can occur when increased run-off enters a drinking water source following heavy rains. GWA will perform assessments of its water system to be within acceptable levels as soon as possible.
