JIC Release No. 30 - Port Authority of Guam Continues Normal Operations

After Typhoon Mankghut made its closest point of approach to Guam, Guam’s only port of entry, the Port Authority of Guam (PAG) suffered damages to all three gantry cranes; Gantries 4, 5 and 6.

The gantry is a structure used to straddle a workplace and the gantry crane has the ability to lift some of the heaviest loads, including large containers of commodities needed on Guam. As Guam’s premier point of sea entry, PAG recognized the need to revitalize all three gantries and were able to get 4 and 5 operational immediately after the storm.
