JIC Release No. 12 - Typhoon Wutip Continues Northwest; Prepare for Winds to Pick Up

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor Typhoon Wutip as it moves northwest and intensifies. Guam remains in Condition of Readiness 2. There has been no significant change in track.

As of 10 p.m., Typhoon Wutip was located 9.9 degrees north latitude and 145.0 degrees east longitude. It is currently 245 miles south of Guam moving northwest at 15 mph.

In anticipation of Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 at 4:00 p.m., note the following healthcare updates:

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) announces that at Condition of Readiness (COR) 2, the Northern Region Community Health Center (NRCHC) in Dededo and the Southern Region Community Health Center (SRCHC) in Inarajan will remain open and the following limited services will be provided:

    Tropical Storm Warning in Effect for Guam; COR 2 Anticipated for 4 p.m. Today

    The National Weather Service (NWS) - Guam Weather Forecast Office continues to monitor Tropical Storm Wutip. NWS has placed Guam in a Tropical Storm Warning as of 11 a.m. Guam remains in Condition of Readiness 3 at this time. Acting Governor Tenorio and Brig. Gen. Boswell anticipate placing Guam and the respective military bases in COR 2 at 4 p.m. today, February 22, 2019.
