The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), Joint Region Marianas (JRM), U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG), and Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) will conduct routine testing of the vital communication and advance warning system sirens, respectively, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, starting at 3:15 p.m.
GHS/OCD will test the nineteen (19) All Hazards Alert Warning System (AHAWS) sirens in conjunction with JRM, NBG, and AAFB monthly routine testing of the “Giant Voice (GV)” sirens.

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport Authority until 6 p.m. this evening. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.
Be alert and take precautions as required. Seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.

The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office monitors newly formed Tropical Depression 15W northeast of the Marianas.
As of 6 a.m., the tropical depression was centered near 20.5 degrees north latitude and 159.1 degrees east longitude, about 940 miles north of Pohnpei and 1065 miles east-northeast of Guam. It is moving northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.
The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s forty-third COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) at approximately 8:57 p.m. The patient was a 53-year-old male with underlying health conditions that were compounded by COVID-19. He was admitted to GMH on August 30 after testing positive at Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC).

The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s forty-second COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) at approximately 1:25 a.m. this morning. The patient was an 83-year-old female with underlying health conditions that were compounded by COVID-19. She was admitted to GMH on August 28 and was a known COVID-19 case.
The Joint Information Center was notified of Guam’s fortieth and forty-first fatalities.
Guam’s fortieth COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) at approximately 7:36 p.m. this evening. The patient was a 56-year-old female with underlying health conditions that were compounded by COVID-19. The patient was admitted to GMH on August 18 and tested positive upon admission.
