Heavy Showers Expected; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 12 p.m., scattered heavy showers will bring half an inch to an inch of rain across southern Guam, especially near the villages of Talofofo, Agat and Santa Rita. Occasional cloud-to-ground lightning is also possible.

 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 160 - One COVID-19 Case Reported from GMHA; Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; June Food Commodities Distribution; Expanded COVID-19 Testing Continues; DPHSS Tuberculosis Control Processing Section; Information for Motorists Operating...

The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) confirmed one positive case of COVID-19 last night and was reported by the Joint Information Center. This case was identified through community testing and did not report contact to a confirmed case. 

 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 158 - Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; DPHSS Guidance Memo 2020-13; Medicare Counseling Re-Opening; Expanded COVID-19 Testing Continues

One new case of COVID-19 was identified through contact tracing and is associated with a significant cluster. One case recently traveled to the continental United States and was identified while staying in a government quarantine facility. Both cases tested positive by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing at the Guam Public Health Lab and were asymptomatic at the time of testing.
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 157 - End of Day Results: Two Test Positive for COVID-19 by DPHSS;Governor Signs Executive Order 2020-19;Expanded COVID-19 Testing Offered in the Villages; Updated Hours of Operation for DPHSS Medical Triage Hotline

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. The cumulative total from all labs will be reported on a nightly basis, unless unavailable. The following breakdown provides cumulative COVID-19 test results for Tuesday, June 2, 2020:
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 154 - Two Positive Cases of COVID-19 Reported; Profiles of Earlier Confirmed Cases; Returning Guam Residents to be Transferred to Home Quarantine; Expanded Testing Continues

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) from May 30-31, 2020. One is a confirmed case that tested positive by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) and reported household contact to two confirmed cases. The second is a probable case that tested positive through serology testing at Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS).
