Southwest winds of 15 to 25 knots are expected to move into Guam and Rota coastal waters Tuesday morning, then spread north into Tinian and Saipan waters Tuesday night. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 from 644 specimens analyzed from tests administered October 7 – 9, 2022:

Prepare for Heavy Rainfall; Flood Watch in Effect
NWS advised latest model guidance indicates that rainfall through Friday may exceed 6 inches or more at one or more of the islands. The situation is favorable for locally heavy rainfall capable of producing flash flooding across the Marianas.
No Immediate Threat to Marianas Assessed from Reported North Korea Launch
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.
“There was no immediate threat assessed for the Marianas from the reported launch,” said Samantha Brennan, Homeland Security Advisor. “The community is reminded to remain steadfast in their preparedness for all-hazards.”
