JIC RELEASE NO. 11 - Travel Guidance and Quarantine Protocol in Accordance with Governor’s Executive Order

There remain five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Guam. To date, the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) has tested a total of 46 cases of COVID-19. The Government of Guam (GovGuam) has implemented its planned COVID-19 response to identify and contain transmission on island.

Based on information published by the Philippine national government, Guam is expecting an influx of passengers from the Philippines. 

JIC Release No. 10 - Two New Cases Test Positive for COVID-19

The Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) tested 20 individuals for COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Two tested positive, and 18 tested negative for SARS-CoV-2. 

 

A total of 46 tests were performed from March 12, 2020 through March 17, 2020. To date, a total of five cases tested positive and 41 cases tested negative for COVID-19. It is important to note that the spread of COVID-19 is a dynamic situation and information may change as it develops.

There remain three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Guam. To date, the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) has tested a total of 26 cases of COVID-19. The Government of Guam has implemented its planned COVID-19 response to identify and contain transmission on island.

The Joint Information Center is aware of unverified messages circulating on social media and chat groups. The community is reminded that this is a rapidly evolving situation. With any change in status, anticipate timely notification. Residents are advised to only share official notices and information to avoid the spread of misinformation. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 5. - Executive Order Provides Guidance for COVID-19 Response; What’s Open, What’s Closed

Today, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order 2020-04 relative to responding to confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Executive Order closes all non-essential Government of Guam (GovGuam) offices, closes all public and private schools, and prohibits large gatherings. 

JIC RELEASE NO. 4: GovGuam to Close for 14-Day Period; Updated Information on Confirmed Cases

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, in consultation with the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has implemented a 14-day suspension of non-essential Government of Guam (GovGuam) operations effective today, Monday, March 16. All critical health and public safety operations will continue uninterrupted. Directors will advise employees if they are required to report for essential government operations.
