JIC Release No. 6 - Guam in COR 2; Damaging Winds Expected Thursday Morning
Guam is now in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2.
In the interest of public safety, and as a precautionary and proactive measure, Governor Eddie Baza Calvo has placed Guam in COR 2 as of 8 p.m. In conference with Rear Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, commander, Joint Region Marianas, only the Government of Guam will be in COR 2. Military installations on the island will remain in COR 3.

JIC Release No. 5 - Emergency Shelters Prepared to Open at 8 p.m.; Residents Urged to Prepare
The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) is preparing to open three emergency shelters at 8 p.m.
The government of Guam is expected to go into Condition of Readiness 2 for Tropical Storm Man-Yi this evening. Residents who need emergency shelter are encouraged to seek safe harbor at the shelter closest to their homes this evening, before damaging winds arrive, which is expected around 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.

JIC Release No. 4 - GMH Making Preparations for Expectant Mothers
In anticipation of Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 this evening, the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) is preparing to accept expectant mothers at 9 p.m. this evening. GMH is following their plans and procedures to open its doors at 9 p.m. to pregnant women who are at least 36 weeks pregnant, and to all high-risk pregnant women who are six months or more into their pregnancy.

GHS/OCD Promotes Counter Terrorism Awareness Week
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) invite the community to celebrate Counter Terrorism Awareness Week (CTAW) between November 25 – December 1, 2018. Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio will sign the CTAW Proclamation on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ricardo J. Bordallo Governors Complex, Large Conference Room.

A tropical storm watch means tropical storm conditions, including damaging winds of 39 mph or more are possible within the next 48 hours.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) through funding from the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP) will host the Guam Public Safety Broadband Workshop with FirstNet on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Westin Resort Guam.
