No Immediate Threat Assessed from Reported North Korea Missile Tests

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), today.

Community Invited to Participate in the Great Guam ShakeOut

Guam will soon take part in the world’s largest earthquake drill, the Great ShakeOut. On Thursday, October 17, 2019 at exactly 10:17 a.m. (ChST), participants will practice the earthquake response procedure; “Drop, Cover and Hold On” from wherever they are. The drill will last for one minute.

NWS Issues Thunderstorm Advisory

The National Weather Service (NWS), Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory for the Guam International Airport until 4 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.
