NWS Issues Thunderstorm Advisory

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued a thunderstorm advisory in effect for the Guam International Airport Authority until 7 a.m. this morning. Thunderstorms are possible within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

In light of recent reports regarding an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) skimming device, the MRFC advises the community to be alert for similar devices and their potential impact on consumers, businesses, and financial institutions.

Annual Tropical Cyclone, Disaster Preparedness & Climate Workshop

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam, is hosting a two-day Tropical Cyclone, Disaster Preparedness and Climate Workshop from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., June 12 – 13, 2018, location to be determined.

NWS Issues Advisories for the Marianas; Practice Caution While Traveling this Morning

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam, has issued the following advisories:
 
short-term forecast has been issued for Guam and Guam coastal waters. Through 5:30 a.m., scattered showers and thunderstorms will bring locally heavy rain, wind gusts to 30 mph, and occasional cloud-to-ground lightning to Guam and adjacent coastal waters. If driving, be alert for low visibilities and brief flooding of roads. Boaters are advised to be alert for strong wind gusts up to 30 knots. Seek shelter is lightning is seen or thunder is heard.
