Information on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 143rd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021. The patient was a 75-year-old female, vaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on July 7, 2021.
“As Guam continues its goal of attaining 80% ‘herd immunity’ of its adult population to COVID-19, data indicates that certain ethnic groups must stand and be counted in the fight against COVID-19. Data also shows that unvaccinated individuals are at the greatest risk of spreading COVID-19, severe illness, and death,” said Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) Director Art San Agustin.
Two (2) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 479 tests performed on July 14. To date, there have been a total of 8,473 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 142 deaths, 109 cases in active isolation, and 8,222 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.
Four (4) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 597 tests performed on July 13. Two (2) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,471 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 142 deaths, 117 cases in active isolation, and 8,212 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 1.1.

The patient was a 75-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. He tested positive on July 13, 2021.
Twenty-three (23) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 606 tests performed July 9 – 11. Twelve (12) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,454 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 141 deaths, 101 cases in active isolation, and 8,212 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 1.2.
Eight (8) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 291 tests performed on July 8. Seven (7) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,431 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 141 deaths, 100 cases in active isolation, and 8,190 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.

The patient was a 72-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on June 26, 2021.
Fifteen (15) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 630 tests performed on July 7. Eight (8) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,423 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 93 cases in active isolation, and 8,190 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.
Fourteen (14) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 617 tests performed on July 6. Seven (7) cases were identified through contact tracing. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,408 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 80 cases in active isolation, and 8,188 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.7.
