Earthquake Recorded

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 that struck about 57 miles north northwest of Asan- Maina, Guam, with a depth of 194.8 km, at 9:46 a.m. (ChST).

The Joint Information Center was notified that Guam’s 129th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on January 25, 2021 at approximately 2:07 a.m. The patient was a 50-year-old male with underlying health conditions. He was admitted to GMH on December 22, 2020 and was a known positive case. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 544 - VAPPC Expands Eligibility Criteria for Vaccines;School-Based Staff to be Vaccinated Starting Saturday; COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Schedule for January 23

During its last meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee (VAPPC) approved the expansion of the Phase 1b category to include public and private school-based staff and school bus drivers, and Guam-based flight crew.

   

JIC RELEASE NO. 543 - Results: 7 of 644 Test Positive for COVID-19;SNAP Supplemental Emergency Allotment Issuances for January 2021; Food Commodities Distribution Through Village Mayors Continues;COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Schedule for January 22 and 23

Seven (7) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 644 tests performed on Wednesday, January 20. Seven (7) cases reported recent travel and were identified in quarantine.
