UPDATED: GHS/OCD Host Introduction to IND Effects Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the Counterterrorism Operations Support (CTOS) – Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training, will host the “Introduction to Improvised Nuclear Device (IND) Effects and Response Strategies” PER-307 course on Wednesday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Sheraton Laguna Resort.

The four-hour course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and provides an overview of how a nuclear detonation can affect an urban area, understanding of current guidance to aid personnel in preparation, recognition, impact, and recommended response strategies should an IND incident occur.

Attendees for the courses include senior leaders and elected officials from the Government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.
