Tropical Depression 23W is now a Tropical Storm

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued advisory 3 announcing Tropical Depression 23W is now a Tropical Storm.  Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 50 miles.
 
TS 23W center is located at at Latitude14.5 degrees North and Longitude 153.7 degrees east moving northwest at 9 mph which is about 605 miles east of Guam. Maximum sustained winds are now at 40 mph.
 
A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Agrihan, Pagan and Alamagan.  There are no watches or warnings for Guam.
 
We will continue to monitor the storm as it maintains its general course and speed over the next 24 hours.
