The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport until 2:45 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.
These storms have been producing occasional lightning. Be alert and take precautions as required. If lightning is seen or thunder is heard, remain indoors.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice caution while traveling on wet roads, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles. Those living in flood-prone areas should take action; clear drainage areas and unblock clogged storm drains in your area to minimize flooding.
